Cycle Event Support (CES)
- We offer technical support focused on doing our best to keep your entrants cycling should they have any issues. We can resolve most common on ride issues relating to punctures and broken chains. We will do our best with any other kind of mechanical issues, but can not always resolve every type of problem that could occur.
- We typically do not carry our own spare bikes for entrants to use.
- When offering mobile on course support, we can transport up to two people at a time back to the event HQ should they not be able to continue.
- We ask that pre-event information includes asking entrants to ensure that their bike is in a good working order, that they carry puncture repair equipment with them, and that they bring a small amount of cash or a payment card in case they need to purchase tubes etc... off of us.
- If we use parts from our own stock then this can either be charged back to the event organiser, or directly to the entrant.
- Our CES is focused on offering mechanic support. We typically do not take on any further responsibilities relating to event logistics (including set up and take down). If this is also required then please let us know so we can include it in our quote.
- We work to a fair mileage policy and include 100 miles of 'during event' driving per day in all our quotes. If however we cover more than this, then we reserve the right to charge an additional sum, charged at a rate of £0.20 per mile.
Dr. Bike Clinic (DBC)
- The fundamental aim of a DBC is to safety check the bikes that are brought along and issue the owner with a safety report. The aim is not to service the bikes, nor to undertake any major repairs. Checks made are limited to the visual inspections possible - without taking any part of the bike apart.
- We take great pride in the quality of our work, and in promoting safe cycling. We retain oversight of our workload to ensure we work to a high standards at all times. In advance of working with you we can provide planning frameworks so you are clear on what is possible within any timeframes involved.
- We will only undertake small repairs on bikes that will be safe to ride on completion of that work. If a bike is unsafe, and we do not possess the time to resolve the issue(s), then we will not repair the bike at all. Equally we will only fit parts supplied by the client or the owner of the bike - if they are fit for purpose and fully compatible.
- Due to what is reasonably possible within the context of a DBC the following types of issues can not be dealt with.
Issues with electric bike motor systems.
Issues with tubeless tyre set ups, beyond topping up the tyre pressure.
We will not work on any form of electric bike that has been modified by the owner.
Bike Maintenance Classes (BMC)
- Our BMC is not intended to offer any formal level of expertise or qualification. We strongly recommend you have your bike serviced at regular intervals by an experienced mechanic, and if ever in any doubt seek expert advice.
- Our BMC are aimed at beginners looking to better understand how to safety check their bike, and resolve common on ride issues. We also cover basic maintenance and there is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have,
- Sessions typically last two hours, but this is just a guide.
- The class is offered at a fixed price, but this cost can be shared by up to three people. Our maximum class size for our standard BMC is three people.
- We supply all of the equipment used at the session, including the bike(s). We do not typically use a customers bike for demonstration purposes.
- We can safety check customers bikes at the end of a BMC and customers can be involved in that process to test what they have learned. This will leave each person with a health report for their bike. Each check takes around fifteen minutes and costs an additional £15.
- We ask that a supervising adult is present if classes are being delivered to anyone under 18 years of age.
Premium Level Bike Servicing
- We currently only offer a Premium Level Service option. We only have a small number of workshop slots a month and have opted to do more in depth work. As such we currently do not offer general repairs or basic servicing. This may change in the future.
- We currently do not service or deal with issues with electric bike motor systems. This includes not only the motor, but also the battery, cabling , sensors. and display module.
- We outsource mountain bike dropper, fork and shock servicing to TFTuned, industry experts who we have been using for years. We can undertake fork lowers servicing in house.
- We love small independent businesses, especially when they excel at what they do. We use The Spokeman in Kendal for wheel building requirements. If this is what you are after drop Simon a message.
Complaints procedure
- We work exceptionally hard to ensure customers are happy with the quality of our work. However, in the unlikely event you have a complaint then please do get in touch. Please email us at -
